What the Unicorns Know

With each death
a tree drops leaves.
After a few falls,
branches wither.

Who can imagine
ourselves unimagined?

But this happens.
With each death
the loss of memory
until we don’t exist.

Even if we have children,
their children’s child
will not have met you.
And so the loss begins.

A face in a photograph.
The grasp for a name.

Friday Night Flash Fiction and Dave Holub Roast!

Hi folks,  Immediately following the Tim Weed reading, head down the hill to the Presidents Room at the Maron Hotel.  Here we will hold the 2013 Dave Holub Memorial Flash Fiction contest.  There will be judges.  And their MIGHT be a prize… And there MUST be Holub roasting.  This would have been the 3rd annual Bad Poetry contest, but to celebrate Dave’s new adventure, we will honor him with a Flash Fiction event.  Writers – get your flash on!

Support our Troops

For three years now I have organized Stockings for Soldiers drives.  This year, I am collecting donations to send to wounded troops.   I’ve made contact with the director of the Warrior Family Support Center at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio Tx.  Brooke Medical Center in San Antonio is now the first stop for all wounded troops. The Warrior Family Support Center is happy to receive our care packages and distribute them to the wounded troops in Brooke Army Medical Center.

If you’d like more info, send me an e-mail.
